In today's global marketplace it is impossible to overlook India. The country may still face a number of social challenges, but its economy is already the world's tenth-largest when ranked by nominal GDP and even the third-largest by purchasing power parity (PPP).
India is without doubt a powerhouse when it comes to industrial manufacturing, with steel companies, valve businesses and pump manufacturers that enjoy world-wide patronage.
Hardly surprising, then, that many of KCI's publications have included editorial and commercial messages from India from their start-up date.
Looking to strengthen our ties with Indian companies, staff at KCI have undertaken many trips to the country over the years.

2012 will be a busy year at KCI, as staff gear up to no fewer than three shows being organised by various KCI brands.
Each show will provide a superb platform for professionals in the flow control or materials sectors.
The first event being put together by KCI is the innovative Duplex Seminar & Summit, scheduled for September 26th and 27th, in Stresa, Italy.
"Clients tell us they are really excited by the new venue and format," enthused Sales Co-ordinator Elisa Hannan.

Like many highlight occasions, the 2011 KCI Christmas Party followed the traditions set down in previous years.
The day started with a leisurely cup of coffee and a slice of cake, following which Director Donald Wiedemeyer got proceedings quickly underway with has famous slide show.
These slides give a detailed and powerful overview of what KCI is all about and how the company interacts with our markets.
This is always the time for the audience to keep their ears pricked, because Donald often touches upon important trends in the publishing arena: trends which could be important for future healthy growth.
After another welcome coffee break, the stage was set for presentations from around the globe.

The Valve World Asia show has just concluded in Suzhou, China, and proved to be the perfect forum where flow control experts could address real challenges in the industry.
For example, where else might you expect to find keynote presentations from EPC contractors of the caliber of Fluor, Technip and Sinopec?
According to our on-the-spot-reporter, all three presenters explained their approach to valve suppliers and manufacturers, the real challenges they face, how they go about solving them and concluded by discussing their experiences.
This wealth of valuable information came during just one session of the two day conference, so as you might imagine, there were a whole lot of discussions about a whole lot of topics!
Running in parallel was the Valve World Asia Exhibition, where leading companies from both East and West set out to woo clients with their products and services.
